Mrs. Ida Maria Romero, 74, of Rocky Ford died Friday, April 29th, 2011 at her residence. Ida was born in Folsom, NM on September 10, 1936, the daughter of the late Abraham and Celia (Maes) Garcia. She attended school in NM and Manzanola High School. She was the wife of Max Toby Romero. They were married on Aug. 26, 1955 in Greeley, CO and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. She retired as a Teachers Aide at Rocky Ford School System Rocky Ford, CO. She retired 1998. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by her husband, Max of the home; Son Max Tomas (Cathy) Romero of Denver, CO; Son Wayne A. (Brenda) Romero of Thornton, CO; Daughter Arlene Maria (Robert) Jackson of Swink, CO; Son-in-Law Michael Edwards of Titusville, FL. Sister Mary Rael (Russell McDonald) of Denver, CO; Brother Ernesto (Juanita) Rael of Las Vegas, NV; Brother Christopher (Diana) Rael of Baltimore, MD; Brother Richard Rael of Fountain, CO; Sister Josephine (Matt) Pearce of Littleton, CO; She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Pablo, Alisha, Breana, Megan, Kareena, Monica, Patrick, Timothy & John. She was preceded in death by: daughter: Peggy Edwards; Adoptive parents; Laura & Jesus Rael; 4 sisters; 3 brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 5th. A Rosary Service will be recited at 1:30 PM on Thursday at St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
