Mrs. Eloina Irene Valdez, 77, of Rocky Ford died on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 while in the company of family members at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center-Nursing Center East, La Junta, CO. Eloina was born in Los Ceroso, NM on June 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Telesfor and Dulcinia (Sandoval) Casados. She was the widow of Selestino "Tino" Valdez. They were married on August 3, 1946 in Raton, NM. He preceded her in death in 2002. She was a Homemaker. She had also worked as a custodian for the City of Rocky Ford. She was a member of La Junta Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in La Junta, CO 81050. She is survived by: Son Christobal husband of Bobbie Valdez of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Kathy wife of Rick Miller of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Linda wife of Robert Valdez of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Frances wife of John Madrid of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Emma wife of Fred Martinez of Denver, Co; Sister Jenny wife of Raymond Martinez of Denver, CO; Sister Mary Sondoval of Denver, CO; Sister-in-law Lala Casados of Pueblo, CO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her grandson: Steven Valdez on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. 2 brothers: Bill & Dan Casados; brother-in-law: Joe Sandoval; 2 sisters-in-law; Mollie & Mary Casados Memorial Service will be at the LaJunta Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in LaJunta at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 23rd, with Br. Joe Montoya officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
