Mrs. Isabel Chavez, 82, of Las Animas died on Sunday, January 6th, 2013 peacefully at Juniper Village, Lamar, CO. Isabel was born in San Diego, TX on June 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Arrelio and Alvina (Cerrato) Chavez. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Las Animas, CO. She is survived by: Daughter Rosario wife of Rick Uyemura of Las Animas, CO; Daughter Raquel Gomez of Garden City, KS; Daughter Ramona wife of Benjamin Torres of Lamar, CO. She is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass following at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 11th, with Fr. Ted Onumaegbu officiating. There will be no public viewing. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
