Ishmal "Ish" Maier

Ishmal (Ish) Maier, 91, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Saturday, July 5th, while in the company of family members, at Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Center - West, La Junta. Ishmal was born in Rocky Ford, CO on November 20, 1922, a son of the late Maria Katherine (Erlich) and George Peter Maier. He attended school in Newdale. He worked as a Farmer at the Family Farm. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Las Animas, CO 81054. He is survived by; Brother Jake, husband of Dorothy Maier, of Canon City, CO; Sister-in-Law Betty Lou Maier of La Junta, CO; He is also survived by Several Nieces and Nephews Ish was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Elma Leoffler & Martha Wissler; 4 brothers: Carl, Richard, George & Alex Maier Graveside Services will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 10th, with Pastor Bob Glasgow officiating. There will be a viewing after the service at the cemetery. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Las Animas, CO 81054 or Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Center-West; 514 W. 10th; La Junta, CO 81050.
