Mr. Ivan Emmett Matthews, 59, of Sugar City died on Monday, February 13th, 2012 at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, Otero County, CO. Ivan was born in Pensacola, FL on December 6, 1952, the son of the Alex Matthews and Shirley Castle. He attended the Florence School System. Ivan was the husband of Karen Ann (Adamson) Matthews. They were married on Oct. 28, 1978 in Aurora, CO. She survives. He worked as a Mechanic Ivan is survived by: His mother; Shirley Castle of Arkansas; Wife Karen of Sugar City, CO; Son Michael E. Matthews of Sugar City, CO; Son Jeffery L. Matthews of Sugar City, CO; Son L. Ivan E. Matthews of Canon City, CO; Daughter Emmaly wife of Nick Lopez of Canon City, CO. There will be no services at this time. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
