Jack Miles, Jr.

Jack Miles, Jr., 92, of Olney Springs, CO, passed away Sunday, October 1st, at his residence. .

Jack was born in Bogard, MO on September 14, 1925, a son of the late Viola (Harris) and Jack Miles, Sr., he was the youngest of three children.

He was the widower of Geraldine Thelma (Brock) Miles, she passed away in June of 2002.

Jack joined the Army when he was 17 and fought courageously in World War II. After his return he became a father of two Cindy and Gary. He then worked as a steelworker before becoming a cowboy and spending the rest of his life as a farmer.

He was a longtime member of the VFW in Ordway, CO .

He is survived by;

Daughter Cindy Garrison, of Littleton, CO;

Granddaughter Pamela Bradley, of Littleton, CO;

Grandson Michael Heeren, of Littleton, CO;

Grandson Jonathan Garrison, of Castle Rock, CO.

He is also survived by Great-Grandchildren: Steven, Nikki, Cody, Rick, Leevi, McKenna, Jack; Great-Great-Grandchildren Anastasia, Autumn, Christopher, Isabella & Matthew, also special friends: Liz & Don Reynolds; numerous other friends especially members of the Ordway VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Geraldine; son: Gary; 2 sisters: Eva Mae Garland and Lula Belle Markus.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM in the Valley View Cemetery in Ordway, CO. Military honors will be provided by the Rocky Ford American Legion Post #8. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Ordway. There will be a luncheon immediately following at the Ordway VFW Post #336 in Ordway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ordway VFW Post #336 104 Arkansas Av. Ordway, CO .
