James A. Anderson, 68, Rocky Ford, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 after a short illness at the Sangre De Cristo Hospice in Pueblo. A memorial service will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, with Pastor John Dell officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation was chosen.

Jim was born June 17, 1950 in Albert Lea, MN to Allan and Loretta I. (Steiglbauer) Anderson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1968 and from Albert Lea Vo. Tech. He moved to Rocky Ford in 1971, where he met and married Jenny (Martinez) Anderson on April 15, 1972. She preceded him in death on March 12, of this year.

He was employed as a Manager at Frozen Foods, a Police Officer with the Rocky Ford Police Department. He then worked for the State of Colorado as a Liquor Investigator until his retirement.

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shared this with his father, uncles and brothers early on while in Minnesota. Jim went on to share his passion for hunting with Matt. He shared his passion and fishing skills with Orlando and Mildred. He shared his interest in antiques with Jenny and his mother.

Jim was the person you could find working quietly in the background to help make an event successful whether it was for St. Peters Catholic Church or the numerous family events. Jim also enjoyed reading and watching western movies with Jenny. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings play football, he will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by Chris (Danny) Chaparro and Matt; a sister-in-law Mildred Martinez and brother-in-law Orlando Martinez of Colorado; mother Loretta Anderson; brother Randy Anderson; sister-in-law Cindy Parry; sister-in-law Janelle and niece Nichole Anderson and children; special uncles George and LaVern and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins all of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his father Allan; wife Jenny Anderson; brother Mike Anderson and his grandparents.
