James "Jim" R. Bruce

April 14, 1943 - August 22, 2015

James Ray (Jim) Bruce, 72, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Saturday, August 22nd, peacefully, at his residence. James was born in Las Animas, CO on April 14, 1943, a son of the late Evelyn Francis (Six) and Denzel Andrew Bruce. Jim graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1961. He was the husband of Sharon Julliette (Garneau) Bruce, they were married on April 16, 1966 in Great Falls, MT. He retired from US Air Force after 28 years of service as a SMSGT. After retirement he worked for Quality Inn and High Chaparral. He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; Son James A. Bruce, of Billings, MT; Daughter Pamela S., wife of Cleiton Rocha, of Bradford, MA; Sister Judy, wife of Ralph Burke, of Vancouver, WA; Sister Bev, wife of Don Briggs, of East Stroudsburg, PA; Brother Don, husband of Rina Bruce, of Philippines; Sister Bobbie Jo, wife of Toni Mitchell, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Memorial Service will be at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 31st, with Pastor John Dell officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time. Family request donations to Arkansas Valley Hospice 531 Lewis La Junta, CO 81050.
