James Herbert (Jim) Pendlay, II, 64, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Tuesday, January 20th, suddenly, at his residence. . James was born in Wichita, KS on September 24, 1950, a son of the late Jane Rivers and James Herbert Pendlay, Sr. He graduated from high school in Herington, KS He was the husband of Lena Gale (Alberico) Pendlay, they were married on June 18, 1987 at Pueblo, CO. He served in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam war where he received the Purple Heart. He worked as a Security Assistant at Pueblo Army Depot in Pueblo, CO for 12 years, he had also worked part-time at the Manzanola Police Department and was formerly an officer for the Rocky Ford Police Department. He is survived by his wife Gale of Rocky Ford, CO; Son James H.,III husband of Naomi Pendlay, of Pueblo, CO; Daughter Kim Pendlay, of Denver, CO; Daughter Renee Pendlay, of Jacksonville, FL; Daughter Josie Medina-Shaller, of Garden City, KS; Sister Carol Mullikin, of Wichita, KS; Brother Greg, husband of Karen Pendlay, of Emporia, KS. He is also survived by Granddaughters Corrina Pendlay and Jamie Garcia of Pueblo, CO. Family will receive friends at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Ford American Legion, 966 Walnut, Rocky Ford, CO 81067.
