Jean Christianson

February 3, 1929 - April 20, 2010

Jean Christianson, 81, of La Junta died on Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 suddenly at her residence. Jean was born in Morehead, Iowa on February 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Rufus Adam and Gertrude (Blowers) Gray. She graduated from high school in Iowa. She was the widow of Lowell Bennett Christianson. They were married on January 7, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2008. She was a Home Maker and also worked as a cook at the Trinidad State Junior College and at numerous nursing homes in the area. She was a member of Prairie Bible Church, and was very active in the church volunteering for numerous activities and cooking for the church dinners and fundraisers. She is survived by; Daughter Claudia Williams wife of (Dale Gregorie) of Lebanon, Mo.; Son Terry Christianson of Santee, CA; Sister Ruth Brown of Council Bluffs, IA; Grandchildren 9 Great-Grandchildren 6 Preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lowell; a daughter: Jeanine Christianson; 2 sons: Charles and Wesley Christianson; 7 sisters Funeral Services will be at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 23rd, with Pastor Maynard Bowen officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-5 PM and on Friday from 9 AM until service time at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the East Holbrook Cemetery in Cheraw, CO.
