Jeffery Michael Lucero, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on July 13th, 2022 at his home in Rocky Ford. He was born on May 31st, 1962 to Maria Clorinda Lucero in Rocky Ford. At a very young age he grew to love sports, especially basketball. While in high school, he excelled as a standout athlete where he was an amazing wide receiver in football, and senior guard in basketball and track, all four years. He was a diehard Denver Broncos fan. He had several jobs through the years, Sage Nutrition Service and Colorado Boys Ranch, to name a few. He was a special nephew to all his aunts and uncles and will be missed dearly, by his entire family. The last five years of his life, he made his home at Nava Manor in Rocky Ford and grew a close friendship with many of the residents there and they became his family. He will be missed by his Nava Manor family, as well.The light of his life was his dog, Spotty, who he loved and took very good care of. He is survived by his dog, Spotty. Special cousins, Linda and Amy Pantoya, whom he leaned on for support and who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents Delfido and Conrada Lucero, uncles, Alfonso Lucero, Florencio Lucero and aunt Estella Sisneros. Since he loved his Denver Broncos, we are asking those in attendance to wear their Broncos gear. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held for him on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford with Fr. Joel Lasutaz officiating. He will be buried next to his mother and grandparents.
