Jennie Torres (a.k.a. Juana Torrez), 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 24, 2019 at the Pikes Peak Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jennie was born December 15, 1935 to Manuel and Josefina (Hernandez) Torres in Cheraw, Colorado.

Jennie was a long-time resident of Rocky Ford, until she moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to family. Many remember her as the friendly store clerk at Love's Shoe Store. Jennie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Eva (Torres) Velasquez; her nieces, Gloria (David) Vallejo, Betty (Arthur) Carrillo, Isabella Sanchez, and Michelle Velasquez-Starr; her nephews, Manuel "Sonny" (Valerie) Torres, David (Rala) Torres, and Hugh Michael (Sheila) Velasquez; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Jennie was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Torres; her mother Josefina (Hernandez) Torres; her brother, Manuel Torres; her brother-in-law, Everett Velasquez; her sister-in-law, Socorro "Cora" Torres; and her nephew, Richard "Rick" Torres.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29th at Ford - Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor John Dell officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
