Natividad de Jesus (Jessie Nettie) Lopez, 106, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2024, at Crowley County Nursing Center. Jessie was born in Tuloso, New Mexico on December 25, 1917, the daughter of Cecilio and Francisquita Grano.

Jessie was the widow of Louis Alfonso Lopez, who preceded her in death in 1969. She was also the long-time partner to Saturnino Gonzalez, who preceded her in death.

Jessie, a loving parent, grandmother, and friend, was a farmer and foster parent for most of her life. She fostered many children for over 20 years before she retired. Jessie loved the outdoors which included her farm animals and garden, and she loved to dance. She maintained her independence until her final days and was always willing to help others, whether it was providing food, support, or other necessities.

She is survived by: Son Louis Antonio (Linda) Lopez, of Colorado Springs, and Daughter Jeannie (Ron) Lopez of Colorado Springs. She has 3 Grandchildren: Tony (Kerri) Lopez, Eric Lopez, Jayson Farmer; and 3 Great-Grandchildren. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, partner, her brothers: Epifanio Grano, Jose Grano, Roberto Grano, Ramon Grano, & Augustine Grano; sisters: Vivianita Gurule, Guadalupe Baros, & Margarita Romero.
