Mrs. Joan Fayette Griffin, 66, of Rocky Ford died on Friday, November 7th, 2008 tragically in a train car accident at Cnty Rd. 20.5 in Rocky Ford, CO. Joan was born in Millville, PA on May 9, 1942, the daughter of the late John Evert and Mildred Eva (Watkins) Lusk. She had attended Otero Junior College in LaJunta. She was the widow of Robert "Bob" Griffin. They were married on June 7th, 1977 in Rocky Ford, CO She was a Homemaker and currently President of the United Methodist Women of Rocky Ford. She is survived by Daughter Brinda Goodwin of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Grace wife of Roland McGuire of Bon Carbo, CO; Son Ray husband of Stenette Randall of Wilsonville, OR; Sister Linda wife of Richard Lindt of Ordway; Sister Judy Ricketts of Blum, TX; Sister Cathie wife of Andy Anderson of Cleburn, TX; Brother John husband of Kathy Lusk, Sr. of Cheraw, CO; Brother Jerry husband of Agnes Lusk of Olney Springs, CO; Brother Dan husband of Virginia Lusk of Cheraw, CO. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren and 6 stepchildren. She was preceded in death by her Daughters: Devonna & Krystal Griffin; a sister: Janice; her parents and husband. Memorial services will be at the First United Methodist Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 13th, with Rev. Olga Hard officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Those who wish may come by the funeral home and sign the book from 9-5 PM on Wednesday, November 12th from 1-6 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later time in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Family request donations to The Family to help with expenses.
