Joe H. Lopez age 63 of Buda, Texas, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. He was born on February 12, 1946 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Joe attended school in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He worked at the VA Fort Lyon hospital prior to moving to Austin in l968, continued work for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Management Analyst, Financial Services Center. He retired after 34 years of service to our Nation's Veterans. Joe was also a member of San Francisco Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors, fishing and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, 'The Chipmunks" and was a great story teller Joe is survived by his wife, Mary of 44 years of Buda, Texas. His mother Laura Saiz Lopez of Pueblo, Co., Son Joseph Conrad Lopez and wife Evelyn Garcia- Lopez, their children; Isabel and Julia of Austin, Tx. Daughter, Brenda Lopez Felan, children; Fabian and Erica of Buda, Tx. Daughter, Victoria Lopez Hernandez, children; Ashley, Aviana, and Alyvia of Buda, Tx; three brothers, Richard (Sadie) Lopez, Fred (Edna) Lopez and Lee Lopez of Pueblo, CO. He was preceded in death by his father, Conrad Lopez, June 9, 1990; Brother, Joe Henry Lopez, Dec 24, 1945; Sandra Lopez, June 9, 1995; nephew, Ricardo L. Lopez, May 27, 1995, and grandparent Eulalio and Rose Lopez and Palemon and Mary Bernal. Honoring Joe H Lopez as pallbearers will be Ray Saiz, Charles Adolph Saiz, Phillip Saiz, Rick Uyemura, Fred Lopez Jr, Fabian Alarcon , Greg Salas, Aaron Salas. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Saiz and John Saiz. Visitation service will be held Monday, May 11th, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home Chapel in Kyle, Texas. Local services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 9:00 AM in the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Vigil services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford.
