Mr. Joe Chapparo Moralez, 85, of Rocky Ford died Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 while in the company of family members at his residence. Joe was born in Rocky Ford, CO on October 31, 1925, the son of the late Jose and Josefina (Chapparo) Moralez. He attended school in the Rocky Ford area. He was the husband of Pauline "Paula" (Vasquez) Moralez. They were married on January 5, 1952 in Rocky Ford, CO. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a Forklifter at American Crystal Sugar Factory in Rocky Ford, CO. He worked for them for 27 years. He also worked for Mameda Farms and Valley Supply for several years. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO 81067. He worked at the church for several years. He is survived by his wife Paula of the home; Daughter Connie wife of James Hays of Colorado Springs, CO; Daughter Mary (Shiranlou) Moralez of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Carmen wife of Ruben Mata of Stockton, CA; Sister Mary wife of Sonny Paje of Stockton, CA. He is also survived by Grandchildren: Joseph (Cindy) Montoya; Angelique (James) Gallegos; Melissa (Jeremy) Horn; Violet (Rick) Gallegos; Soraya Shiranlou; Shane Bielawski and Great-Grandchildren: 15; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 15th, with Fr. Charlie Sena officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be held at 6 PM on Sunday at St. Peters Catholic Church by Deacon Terry Marinelli & Manuel Ochoa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray final expenses. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
