Mr. Joe Ignacio Trujillo, 68, of Swink/Rocky Ford died Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 while in the company of family members at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Joe was born in Swink, Co on February 1, 1941, the son of the late Jose Lorenzo and Mariana (Olguin) Trujillo. He attended school in the Rocky Ford area. He married Rose Gallegos on October 15, 1966 in Rocky Ford. He worked as a Electronics Mechanic at Ft. Lyon VA. He had also worked as a Missile Technician at the Pueblo Depot and as a car hauler. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, American Legion and the VFW all in Rocky Ford. He served in the U.S. Army as a SP5 (T) E5 in the Vietnam War. He is survived by: Son Troy husband of Rosie Trujillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Elaine McIntyre of LaJunta, CO; Son Conrad Trujillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Carol Encinias wife of Leroy of Greeley, CO; Sister Bernice Gallegos of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Tony husband of Maggie Trujillo of Commerce City, CO; Brother Ben Trujillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Felix Trujillo of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Tracey McIntyre and her Fiance' Cameron Salzbrenner of LaJunta, CO; Granddaughter Sydney McIntyre of LaJunta, CO; Granddaughter Mireya Trujillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Jennifer Trujillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson Mathew McIntyre of LaJunta, CO. He was preceded in death by a brother: Lorenzo "LT" Trujillo; a nephew: James Encinias; and a son-in-law: Todd McIntyre A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 20th, with Fr. Charlie Sena officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be recited at 9:30 AM Thursday at St. Peters Catholic Church. Military services will be provided by the American Legion Post 8. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date. A Memorial Fund has been established with the American Legion Post 8 c/o David Stanbridge; 766 Walnut, Rocky Ford, CO 81067. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
