Joe Mitsuo Kido - Wyeno, 96, of Olney Springs, CO, passed away Thursday, October 8th, at Villa Pueblo Senior Living Community, Pueblo.
Joe was born in La Junta, CO on September 17, 1924, a son of the late Toku (Kadoguchi) and Sampei Kido.
He graduated from Crowley High School in 1944.
He was the widower of Toshiko (Fujimoto) Wyeno, they were married on December 20, 1949 in Rocky Ford, CO. She preceded him in death on Thursday, May 24th, 2012.
He attended the Crowley Community Baptist Church, Crowley, CO.
Joe's early life during the depression the family moved from Swink, CO to Poncha Springs, CO and farmed until his dad passed away then his mom moved the family back to Swink, CO where she eventually met and married George Wyeno.
Joe was a lifetime farmer (one of the best in the Arkansas Valley). He was a board member for Farm Home Administration (FHA) for 3 years and the ASCS for 6 years. Joe was an avid bowler and bowled in the men's Tuesday night league for 10 years. He served as president for the Wednesday night sr. citizen's league and for the sr. citizens league. Joe went to 13 National Bowling Tournaments and sponsored numerous bowling team's throughout the years. He also managed little league baseball for a number of years.
Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, neighbor and friend. He believed in hard work, ethics and patriotic. He had a heart of gold and was always looking out for others. He will be missed by his family, friends and anyone who knew him.
He is survived by: Son Gary (Jane) Wyeno, of Hastings, NE; Son Larry Wyeno, of Boulder, CO; Daughter-in-Law Marilyn Fellows, of Westminster, CO; Brother Henry (Ruth) Wyeno, of Littleton, CO; Sister Dorothy (Jim) Adams, of Broomfield, CO; Sister May (Dennis) Clermont, of Loveland, CO; Sister-in-Law Darla Wyeno, of Arvada, CO; Sister-in-Law Pat Kido, of Yuba City, CA; Grandson Ross (Jenny Wetter) Wyeno, of Denver, CO; Grandson Brent (Dana) Kose, of Nashville, TN; Grandson Brad (Karla) Anderson, of Hastings, NE; Granddaughter Amy (Scott) Good, of Hastings, NE; Grandson Kevin (Rosemary) Anderson, of Whitman, NE.
He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; step-father: George Wyeno; wife: Toshiko; infant son: Gerald Ray Wyeno; sisters: Toshiko Kora, Mary Hiraga, Lillian Akagi; brothers: Frank Kido, Mike Kido, Harry Wyeno
Due to the Covid Pandemic, there will be a private family graveside service in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. A memorial service will take place at a later time.
