John Anthony Iozzi

November 19, 1928 - February 6, 2016

Mr. John Anthony Iozzi, of Monument, CO died on Saturday, February 6, 2016 while in the company of his loved ones at his residence in Monument, CO. John was born in New York City, New York on November 19, 1928. He joined the Air Force out of High School and served in the Medical Corp. After serving in the Air Force he graduated from New York University with honors and continued his Post Graduate Education at Farleigh Dickenson University in New Jersey. After graduation he worked for American Cyanamid Corporation in New Jersey for many years before moving to Colorado. He was married to the former Dolores (Dede) Chavez Iozzi of Rocky Ford. He and his wife were former residents of Rocky Ford, CO in the 1970's when he served as Manager of the Chamber of Commerce. He and his family moved to Tempe, Arizona where he worked for Digital Equipment Corporation for many years. He then had the opportunity to move back to his beloved Colorado in Monument, where he and his wife have lived for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Rose and Cesare Iozzi, his younger brother Albert Iozzi, and his mother and father in-law, Mike and Stella Chavez of Rocky Ford. He left behind, his beloved wife, Dolores (Dede) Chavez Iozzi, his daughters Elayne (Iozzi) Morris, Tony & Kathy (Iozzi) Catalano, Jean (Iozzi) Johnson, his grandchildren: Malorie Kempker, Brad Kempker, Katie Johnson, Dave & Danielle (Catalano) Taylor, Brian & Kassye (Catalano) Gerring, Anthony and Nicholas Catalano and great-grandchildren: Russell TaJalle, Brody Sims and Mikaela and Christopher Gerring. Per his request, there will be no services or viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will take place at a later in the Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
