Jose "Cruz" Cordova

Jose (Cruz) Cordova, 68, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, suddenly in an auto accident. Jose was born in Trinidad, CO on December 14, 1947, a son of the late Ruth (Sanchez) and Cruz Cordova. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church Rocky Ford, CO. Cruz served in the U.S. Army. He was an entrepreneur in his younger years. He owned several different companies and strived to make them succeed. He was a hard worker and was dedicated to whatever task he encountered. He enjoyed nature and working with plants. He worked with local farmers and each year he helped family members plant their gardens. Jose frequently made trips to Colorado Springs to help his son and family till the soil and plant their gardens. He also followed up with other family members to make sure their gardens were being nurtured and cared for in a way he would approve, so the gardens would flourish. Jose's family cherished his help with their gardens because it was a reminder of his love for them everyday. He is survived by; one son, one daughter, four grandchildren, three sisters, one aunt, two sisters in-law, two brothers in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and one grandson. He was greatly loved by his family and friends and will be missed forever. Per his request there will be no services. Inurnment and memorials will be private at a later time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
