Jose "I-19" David Lucero, 77, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Saturday, July 5th, while in the company of family members, at his residence. Jose was born in Anton Chico, NM on October 10, 1936, a son of the late Frances (Gaston) and Castulo Lucero. He attended school in New Mexico. Jose was the widower of Mary Stella (Crespin) Lucero. On September of 1959, they were married at Rocky Ford, CO. She passed away on March 23, 1999. He served in the U.S. Army. Jose worked as a Truck Driver at Peter Kiwiet Construction Company Denver, CO., He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church Rocky Ford, CO and was a retired Teamster Union Member. He is survived by; Son Edward, husband of Kathleen Lucero, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Allen Lucero, of Denver, CO; Step Daughter Roseann, husband of Jim Gold, of Penrose, CO; Step Daughter Susan, wife of Joe Sepulveda, of Denver, CO; Step Son Joe, husband of Wendy Martinez, of Pueblo, CO; Sister Viola Gonzalez, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Bernice, wife of Defino Espinoza, of Rocky Ford, CO. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Jose was preceded in death by parents; wife; sister: Josie Rael; 3 brothers: Arthur, Daniel, Deserio A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM on Thursday at St. Peters Catholic Church. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 10th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
