Prayer of the rosary for Juan "Tino" Lucero, 55 of Rocky Ford will be Sunday February 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter catholic church in Rocky Ford. A mass of Christian burial will be Monday February 23rd at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Lucero died February 19th at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born October 28th, 1953 in La Junta to Madelina and Juan Lucero of Manzanola. Juan and wife Lenore Florez were married in Rocky Ford and they had 3 children Agee Lee Lucero (deceased), Michael Anthony (Andrea) Lucero of Monument, and Jennifer Annette (Derek) Fraser of Rocky Ford. Tino was also proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Fraser, Carley Fraser, Abigail Lucero, and Julia Lucero. In addition to the formentioned children he is survived by sisters Martha (Sifer) Lopez of Crowley, Irene (Mike) Brewer of Rocky Ford, Annie (Alturo) Grajeda of Crowley, Carmen (Danny) Ramirez of Rocky Ford, Brothers Eloy (Glinda) Arguello of Florence, Leo (Elenore) Lucero, of Pueblo, Leo (Darlene) Arguello of Denver. Mr. Lucero is proceeded in death by his parents Juan and Madelina Lucero, Son Agee Lee Lucero, Brothers Sammy Arguello, Robert Arguello, and Steve Lucero. He contributed to the community by organizing charitable holiday food and gift baskets, which has expanded into the Pueblo and Canon City areas, Tino was a devoted member of the catholic church. He also was an avid softball player. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Tino recently retired from Blaca Hills Energy after 35 years of employment. Following the services interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford. A reception will follow the services at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Family may be contacted at 1113 S. 16th St in Rocky Ford. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
