Juanita A. Ring

Juanita A. Ring, 93, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Sunday, November 23rd, peacefully, at Bent County Healthcare Center, Las Animas, CO. Juanita was born in Jay, Oklahoma on September 17, 1921, a daughter of the late Anna (Downs) and William Sturges. She was born on September 17, 1921 to William and Anna Sturges in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Juanita had 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. The Sturges Family moved to Rocky Ford during the Great Depression. On December 26,1942 Juanita married Alec Ring in Rocky Ford. Juanita worked at the Grand Theatre during the WWII campaigns, and awaited Alec to return from the US Army. In 1964 Juanita became a nurse aid at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Rocky Ford and retired from there in 1976. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Alec, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children, son Dennis W. Ring and wife Connie of Springfield, Colorado; daughter Margaret (Sue) Estrada and husband Hugo of Rio Vista, Texas; sister Genevieve L. McConnell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandsons Anthony Pacino of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Robert Ring of Hays, Kansas, Noel Estrada and wife Maritza of Crowley, Texas, Noah Estrada and wife Trina of Austin, Texas; granddaughter Patty Pacino of Fort Worth, Texas; six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery, Las Animas, CO, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26th, with Pastor John Dell officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9-11 AM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery in Las Animas, CO.
