Julia Torres

Julia Torres, 97, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Sunday, April 20th, peacefully, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center-Nursing Center East, La Junta.

Julia was born in Sugar City, CO on May 27, 1916, a daughter of the late Anna Maria (Orona) and Jacobo  Gutierrez.

She attended school in Sugar City.

Julia was the widow of Nepomuceno  Torres.

She was a  Homemaker and a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church Rocky Ford, CO.

She is survived by; Son Tomas Torres, of Albuquerque, NM; Daughter Dolores Maria wife of Saul Fernandez, of Santa Ana, CA; Son Theodore, Sr. husband of  Cora Torres, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Dinah Ramirez, of Chino Hills, CA; Brother Julian Gutierrez, of Steelville, MO. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren & 21 great-great-grandchildren

Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 7 brothers & 2 sisters; son, Armando Torres; grandson, Theo Torres.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 28th,  with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO.
