Katherine Louise (Kat) Montoya, 59, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Tuesday, June 10th, while in the company of family members, at her residence. Kathy was born in Rocky Ford, CO on August 27, 1954, a daughter of the late Domitilia Mary (Montoya) Aragon and Donaciano Esquibel. She attended schools in Rocky Ford, CO. She was the wife of Henry E. Montoya, Jr. On October 2, 1971, they were married at Rocky Ford, CO. She retired as Manager from Diamond Shamrock Convenience Store in Pueblo, CO after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by her husband Henry of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Adrian, husband of Jolene Montoya, of Hersey, MI; Daughter Elsie Montoya (Conrad Aragon), of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Lisa Montoya (Michael Barela), of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Rose Perez, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Gloria Perez-Ornelas (Larry Ornelas), of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Evelyn, wife of Antonio Garcia, of Colorado Springs, CO; Brother Frank, Jr. husband of Gloria Aragon, of Colorado Springs, CO; Brother Steve, husband of Anita Aragon, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Diana, wife of Telesforo Hinojosa, of Seely, TX; Brother Donald Esquibel (Sandra DeHerrera), of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Maria Esquibel wife of (Carmel Montoya), of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother David Grano, of LaJunta, CO; Step-father Frank Aragon, of Rocky Ford, CO; She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM with Memorial Mass to follow at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 16th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
