Kathryn Cross

Kathryn Cross, 83, of Fowler, CO, passed away August 3, 2013, in Pueblo, CO. She was born to Kenneth "Shanty" and Agnes Davis on April 5,1930, in Huntington Park, CA. Kathryn had three brothers and one sister, all of whom are deceased: Charles, Kenney, Fred, and Ann Beiler. When she was in sixth grade, she and her family moved from California to live north of Fowler with her grandfather "Pop" Davis. She attended schools at Antelope, Mesa, Grandview, and Fowler. Kathryn had a variety of careers and interests. She was a telephone operator at the Fowler office, a bookkeeper for Cross and Sons, a veterinarian assistant, a waitress and cook. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, sewing, crocheting, camping, traveling, dancing, singing, whistling and her dogs. She was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Kathryn is survived by her husband, John Cross, her daughters and their families: Maxine Baker, Kellie and Rick Renteria, Stetson and Sierra Watts, Karla, Scott, Hunter, and Mateya Fillmore. She is also survived by many relatives, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and special friends. A Memorial Service will be at the Fowler United Methodist Church, Fowler, CO, at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9th, with Pastor Jake Shue and Pastor Brian Blackburn officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time. Family request donations to Sangre De Cristo Hospice 124 W. Cranston, Fowler, CO 81039.
