Kenneth Eugene Grimes of Rocky Ford passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Colorado Springs at the age of 87. Kenny was born in Rocky Ford to Kenneth Cleveland Grimes and Velma Mae Mellon Grimes. Kenny grew up in Rocky Ford and graduated from Rocky Ford High School. When he was in high school, he also drove the school bus. Kenny married Shirley Ann Ward on June 18, 1955. Kenny joined the Air Force during the Korean War; he was also stationed at Albrook Air Force Base in the Panama Canal Zone. After the Air Force Kenny worked for the Goodyear Tire Company. He was a maintenance supervisor for Valco. He owned Grimes Dirt Work and was also a Rocky Ford Spray Pilot for 10 years.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 68 years Shirley Grimes, 1 son: Ronald Eugene Grimes, 2 grandchildren: Kenny Grimes and Steven Wilkins, 2 great-grandchildren: Kenny Grimes and Vincent Lucero. He was preceded in death by his sister Margery McGuire and his brother Byron Grimes.
