Kenneth Layton (Ken) Wilson, 74, of Manzanola, CO, passed away Thursday, March 30th, at Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, CO. Kenneth was born in Satanta, KS on March 20, 1943, a son of the late Estelle Loma (Pearce) and Richard Layton Wilson. He was the husband of Carol S. (Taylor) Wilson, they were married on August 22, 1965, in Ulysses, KS, recently celebrating 51 years. Ken and family started Rocky Mountain A & T Parts (an antique Ford parts and restoration business) in 1976. Ken retired after teaching for 28 years from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs. Ken also worked with Muth Welding Service in Rocky Ford, CO for many years. The Wilson family purchased Rocky Ford Auto Parts (NAPA) in June, 2015. Ken excelled in high school sports activities at Holly High School and participated in ROTC at The University of Northern Colorado. Ken was Past President of Arkansas Valley Fair and current Director/member of the Fair Board and President of the Colorado Truck and Tractor Pullers Association. He was also a past member Pikes Peak Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America. He is survived by his wife Carol of the home; Son Kenneth "Kenny" Wilson, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Myrna, wife of Mike Shuman, of Topeka, KS; Brother Tom, husband of Karen Wilson, of Wiley, CO; Brother Doug, husband of Patty Wilson, of Holly, CO; Sister Shirley Wilson, of Ft. Collins, CO. Special Aunt LaVaun Ulery, of Independence, KS; Special Son Richard husband of Heather Cathcart of Canon City, CO He is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Tiffany (Eric) Hirschler of Rocky Ford, Josh (Ari) Beck of Rocky Ford; 3 great-grandchildren: Bradley and Hailey Hirschler; Andre Beck of Rocky Ford, and one on the way! 3 Special Grandchildren: Paxton ,Dalton, and Kirsten. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 5th at First United Methodist Church in Rocky Ford with Pastor Eugene Birt of Lamar/Holly officiating.Interment will be in Holly Cemetery in Holly, CO at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Valley Fair (stables) Rocky Ford, CO 81067. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford - Ustick Funeral Home.
