Mr. Kevin Leslie Smith, 54, of Rocky Ford passed away Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 suddenly at Memorial Health System, Colorado Springs, CO. Kevin was born in Rocky Ford, CO on June 14, 1958, the son of David Eugene and Lois Jean (Kiefer) Smith. He was raised in Rocky Ford and graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1976. Kevin started farming and ranching with his Dad when he was small. In 2005 he took over the family business. He was a natural when it came to livestock. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Rocky Ford, CO. He is survived by his mother Lois of Rocky Ford; Son Greg Smith of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Mike husband of Darcey Smith of Palmer Lake, CO; Sister Sherri Smith of Rocky Ford, CO; Nephew Justin Smith of Denver, CO; Nephew Kiefer Butler of Rocky Ford, CO; Niece Callie wife of Justin McWhorter of Castle Rock, CO; Niece Piper Smith of Palmer Lake, CO; Great-Nephew Evan McWhorter of Castle Rock, CO. He was preceded in death by his father: Gene Smith; sister: Sheila Smith; grandparents: Leslie & Grace Kiefer & David K. & Estelle Smith. A Graveside Memorial Service will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 3rd, with Pastor Leslie Barnett officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church 301 W.
