LaBerta (Bert) Hollar, 88, of Rocky Ford, CO passed away from natural causes on Wednesday, March 9th, at Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO. LaBerta was born in Plainfield, NJ on January 27, 1928, a daughter of the late Lillian Viola (Notes) and Adolph Henry Ahlfeld. She was the wife of Victor Hollar and was also married to Dr. Roy L. McKittrick who preceded her in death in August of 1996. LaBerta graduated from the Columbia University School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was a practicing Registered Nurse for 50 years before retiring in 2001. She is survived by her husband Victor; her son John McKittrick (Faith Conlon), Seattle, WA; daughter Jane McKittrick (Michael Dresdner), Puyallup, WA; son Douglas McKittrick, Colorado Springs; daughter Sarah Blumenthal (Thomas), Denver; and daughter Elizabeth Heatwole (James), Peoria, IL; as well as 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services will be private and at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that those who can, donate blood to Bonfils Blood Center or local blood bank.
