Larry Lewis Proctor was born on May 6, 1937 to Lewis and Madge Proctor. Larry later had two siblings: Anita Peters and Gary Proctor. He grew up on his family's farm in Ordway, helping his father farm. He later met his wife, Cheryl, and together they had four children. Larry later moved to Swink to continue doing what he loved. He worked for Earl Showalter Farms for eleven years. He then moved to Rocky Ford to work for Salty Schelgal until 1991 when he decided to take a leap of faith and start his Custom Harvest Business, Proctor-N-Sons, which was ran by himself and his sons, his son-in-law and grandson up until 2010 when he retired.
Larry enjoyed his family and friends and all of his grandchildren and his dog Tuffy. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Proctor of Rocky Ford; his sons: Rob Proctor of Rocky Ford and Dwane (Jeniffer) Proctor of La Junta; daughter: Kimberly (Manuel) Romero of Swink; grandchildren: Thomas (Marrisa) Romero of Swink, Krista (Brent) Goodrich of La Junta, Logan (Zach) Davis of Rocky Ford, Loren (Billy) Mink of Illinois, Alexia Proctor of La Junta, and Ziera Proctor of La Junta; great grandchildren: Kaylee and Jaxon Romero, Brean and Landon Goodrich, Kate Davis, Hailee and BrantLee Mink; brother: Gary (Bonnie) Proctor, and Ronnie Peters, along with many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Shawn Proctor, his sister Anita Peters, his mother Madge Proctor, his father Lewis Proctor, and many uncles and aunts.
