Laura Barbara Boraker

Mrs. Laura Barbara Boraker, 92, of Rocky Ford died on Sunday, April 11th, 2010 peacefully at her residence. Laura was born in St. John, KS on March 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Guy Raymond and Emma Christine (Hundt) Berkley. She was the wife of George Boraker. They were married on January 16, 1940 in Raton, NM She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Rocky Ford. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Sr. Citizens Center, a volunteer at the SAGE for many years and numerous other community activities. She is survived by her husband George of the home; Daughter Evelyn Sumner of Aubrey, TX; Daughter Barbara Boraker of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Raymond Boraker of Denver, CO; Granddaughter Charlene wife of Jeff Brown of Elizabeth, CO; Granddaughter Joyce Dantoni of Cordova, TN; Granddaughter Sheri Van Meter of Sterling, CO; Grandson Jason husband of Kimberly Sumner of Aubrey, TX; Grandson Glen husband of Jamey Van Meter of Sterling, CO. She is also survived by Great-Grandaughters: Jeanna Candelaria of Elizabeth, CO; Jessica Sumner of Aubrey, TX; Cassandra Brown of Elizabeth, CO; Alexandria Sumner of Aubrey, TX; Gabriella Dantoni of Cordova, TN; Francesca Dantoni of Cordova, TN; Kennedy Van Meter of Sterling, CO; and Brianna Rector of Sterling, CO; Great-Grandsons: Christopher Brown of Elizabeth, CO; Ian Martinez of Sterling, CO and Corey Rector of Sterling, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: David Boraker; sister: Lena Mae Edwards Graveside Services will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 16th, with Pastor John Dell officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9 AM until 12 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford.
