LaVonne Marie (Miller) Huffman passed away May 14, 2020, at Swedish Hospital in Denver. She was born in Kansas on September 21, 1936, to Wallace Botkin and Juanita Sarah (Cobb) Miller. She grew up on a farm north of Ordway after her family relocated to Colorado in 1942. She graduated from Ordway High School in 1954 and went on to a career with the U.S. Government. She worked many years at the Pueblo Army Depot and in 1967 transferred to the Department of Interior - Bureau of Mines in Denver, where she retired.
LaVonne was the mother of one son, Jeffrey Laverne Huffman, who survives her. She's also survived by her nephew Shane (Kim) McClendon and their family, cousins Sarah Dillon (Rick Rickman), Linda (Jim) Adkins, and Larry (Linda) Cobb and their families, as well as numerous family in Kansas. She also leaves life-long friends, including the Nelson brothers Ray, Jim and Forest, who grew up neighbors to her on the farm and Janice Geringer, her high school best friend.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Norma Jean and Bernarr McClendon and their daughter Moneka Davis, and her brother Wallace Botkin Miller, Jr. (W.B.) ("Dub").
