Lawrence Eugene (Gene) Frantz, 80, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Tuesday, October 1st, at Penrose Main Medical Center, Colorado Springs.

Lawrence was born in La Junta, CO on January 23, 1939, a son of the late Lucille Irene (Ritthaller) and Lawrence Wade Frantz.

He was the widower of Alice Jean (Blackford) Frantz.

Gene owned and operated Frantz Construction for 45+ years. Prior to starting his own construction company he was a Building Trades Instructor at Otero Junior College, and also worked for several contractors in the area.

He was a lifelong member and past Exalted Ruler of the Rocky Ford ELKS Lodge #1147.

He is survived by: Son Alan (Peggy) Frantz, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Nancy (Gene) Schreckhise, of Kennewick, WA; Granddaughter Stephanie Frantz, of Canyon, TX; Grandson Cameron Frantz, of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson Connor Frantz, of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Caitlyn Frantz, of Ordway, CO.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Alice; Son: Donald Frantz; brother: David.
