Lee Eloy (Kook) Olona, Jr., 61, of Pueblo, CO, passed away Sunday, January 17th, suddenly, at Parkview Medical Center. Lee was born in La Junta, CO on May 13, 1954, a son of Adelina Elena (Garcia) Esquibel and the late Lee Eloy Olona, Sr. He attended school in Rocky Ford, CO and Job Core. Lee worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Lee enjoyed playing his guitar, pulling pranks on friends and family, watching his beloved Raiders. He is survived by mother: Adelina Esquibel; Wife; Shelly Olona of the home; Sister Helen, wife of Ralph Cook, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Maria, wife of Carmel Montoya, Jr. of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Don, husband of Sandra Esquibel, Jr., of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Brooklynn Shuemaker, of Reno, NV; Grandson Damian Hassis, of Glassgow, MT; Grandson Eli Hassis, of Glassgow, MT; Son Christopher Shuemaker, of Reno, NV; Daughter Celina, wife of Pablo Espinoza, of Glassgow, MT; Daughter Ritamaria Espinoza, of Glassgow, MT. Lee was preceded in death by his father; brother: Johnny Olona; grandma: Caroline Olona; aunts: Delia Gaucin and Mary Olona; sister: Maria Esquibel; step-father: Don Esquibel, Sr. A Memorial Mass will be on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:30 AM with a Rosary to be recited prior to the Mass at 10:00 AM both at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Inurnment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford. The family is requesting that those in attendance wear Raider colors, black and silver.
