Leland Hamm

June 10, 1918 - July 30, 2012

Mr. Leland Frantz Hamm, 94, of Rocky Ford passed away on Monday, July 30th, 2012 peacefully at Pioneer Health Care Center. Leland was born in Rocky Ford, CO on June 10, 1918, the son of the late Jacob and Jane (Wolfe) Hamm and graduated from Swink High School. He was the widower of Lydia (Keck) Hamm, they were married in 1947 and she preceded him in death in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. Leland retired from the American Crystal Sugar Company in Rocky Ford, CO. and was a lifetime member of Rocky Ford Church of the Brethren, latering attending the Community Presbyterian Church. He is survived by: Daughter Sandra Hamm of Pueblo West, CO; Daughter Sherry wife of Phillip Gomez of Horizon City, TX; Granddaughter Debbie wife of Tim Shallenberger of El Paso, TX; Granddaughter Lisa Gomez of Horizon City, TX; Great-Granddaughter Michelle Shallenberger of Las Cruces, NM; Great-Grandson Michael Shallenberger of El Paso, TX. Leland was preceded in death by; step-mother: Myrtle; 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral Services at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 3rd, with Rev. Steve Culver officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be private family.
