Mr. Leland Emmer Scott, 87, of Rocky Ford died Monday, October 6th, 2008 peacefully at the Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford.

Leland was born in Rocky Ford, CO on January 28, 1921, the son of the late Leonard E. and Pauline (Abert) Scott. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School

He was the widower of Nellie A. (Overton) Scott. They were married on June 23, 1938 in Rocky Ford, CO. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2007

He was retired as a Master Mechanic at American Crystal Sugar Plant Rocky Ford, CO.,

He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by: Granddaughter: Stephanie (Steve) Myers of Los Angeles, CA; Grandson: Lee Scott of Sacramento, CA; Grandson: Richard Scott of Sacramento, CA; Nephew: Leland W. (Mary) Scott of Canon City, CO; Nephew: Byron (Felisha) Scott of Stillwater, OK; Daughter-in-law: Judith Scott of Sacramento, CA.

He was preceded in death by a duaghter: Janice Ann Smith; a son: Richard "Dick" Scott; 2 brothers: Bill & Leonard Scott

Funeral Services will be at the at First United Methodist Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 9th, with Rev. Olga Hard officiating. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 3-5 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, LLC. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
