Lorraine E. Lyons Ackerman of Rocky Ford passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the age of 76 in Colorado Springs. Lorraine was born in West Side, IA to Webkelina & Donald Lyons. After graduating high school Lorraine joined the Army. After leaving the Army she married George Ackerman in Ft. Morgan. George traveled working in the oil fields and they settled back in Rocky Ford. Lorraine loved her family, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, and going with her children to family gatherings. She loved Elvis Presley. She enjoyed watching the old western shows, the true crime shows and she didn't miss an episode of Days of Our Lives.

Lorraine is survived by 4 children: Sherry Lyons, Lisa (Tony) Garcia, Raymond (Juanita Stanley) Ackerman, Necole Ackerman all of Rocky Ford, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Phyllis Garcia of Ordway, Mary Montoya of Ordway, Carol (Willie) Ramirez of MS. She was preceded in death by her sisters Lynette Wilkens, Donna Janssen.
