Louis (Louie) Martinez, 84, of Lakewood, CO, passed away Monday, July 15th, at his residence.

Louis was born in Santa Rosa, NM on July 6, 1935, a son of the late Amada (Mora) and Bernardino Martinez.

He was the widower of Patricia (Valdez) Martinez, she preceded him in 2008.

He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked as a barber for Cheyenne Barbershop in Colorado Springs, CO for 43 years, retiring 18 years ago.

Louie enjoyed his family and loved them dearly. He enjoyed dancing to New Mexico music, bowling, shooting pool and was a quite a poker player. He was a very proud son, husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by; Daughter Geraldine (Mark) Vigil, of Lakewood, CO; Grandson Brian (Rosie) Vigil, of Castle Rock, CO; Grandson Michael (Nicci Carter) Vigil, of Littleton, CO; Granddaughter Nicole (Jamar Benjamin) Vigil, of Denver, CO; Great-Grandsons: Jaydon Lawrence Vigil, Davian Vigil and Donovan Gonzales all of Castle Rock, CO.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Patricia Ann Martinez; daughter: Shirley Kay Martinez; 2 sons: Lawrence Jake Martinez & Gary Vincent Martinez; mother-in-law: Manuleta Valdez; father-in-law: Jake Valdez; brothers and sisters.

A Rosary Service will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 27th with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:30 AM both at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #8 of Rocky Ford. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
