Lucy Ellen Langhorst

January 11, 1922 - May 28, 2009

Mrs. Lucy Ellen Langhorst, 87, of Sugar City died Thursday, May 28th, 2009 peacefully at Crowley County Nursing Center, Ordway, CO. Lucy was born in Urbana, MO on January 11, 1922, the daughter of the late Emory and Ruth (Smith) Whillock. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1940 then attended State Teachers College in Springfield, MO and completed her permanent certificate from Western State College in Gunnison, CO. She was a member of the Ordway United Methodist Church where she served as choir director. She was the widow of Harold O. Langhorst. They were married in May of 1948 and he preceded her in death in August of 1978. She was employed as an Elementary Teacher for more than 40 years. She is survived by; Brother Bill husband of Barbara Whillock of New Mexico; Brother Laurel Whillock of Missouri; 15 nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. There will be no services. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later date Sugar City Cemetery Sugar City, CO.
