Lydia Medina

Lydia Medina, 73, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Tuesday, November 17th, peacefully at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta. Lydia was born in Vroman, CO on January 6, 1942, a daughter of the late Santos (Reyna) and Ciriaco Salas. Lydia graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1961 and was a member of the FBLA. She was the wife of Delphy Medina, they were married on August 4, 1962 in Rocky Ford, CO. Lydia was a homemaker as well as a Teacher's Aide in Los Angeles, CA School District and in Rocky Ford School District in Rocky Ford, CO. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO 81067. She lived in Los Angeles, CA for several years before returning to retire in her hometown of Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by her husband Delphy of the home; Daughter Elaine Medina, of West Covina, CA; Sister Claudia Ortiz, of Riverside, CA; Sister Toni Salas, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Helen Salas, of La Crescenta, CA; Sister Pearl Baca, of La Crescenta, CA; Sister Alice Reyna, of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Robert Salas, of Colorado Springs, CO; Brother Jimmy Salas, of Colorado Springs, CO; Grandson Andrew Lugo, of West Covina, CA; Grandson Josh Yard, Granddaughter Monique Medina, of Fontana, CA; Granddaughter Sabrina Medina Great-Granddaughter Anaya Reynosa, of Fontana, CA; Daughter-in-law Jeanine Medina, of Fontana, CA; God-Son Jeff Medina, of El Monte, CA; God-Daughter Tracy Flores, Granada Hills, CA; She is also survived by sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; son: Stephen Medina; sisters: Tillie Romero, Susie Salas, Nicole Salas, Ramona Salas and Ramona Medina-Pena; Brothers: Demetrio & Billy Salas; In-Laws: Ida and Alfonso Medina; Sister-in-Law: Martha Medina; Brothers-in-law: Oscar Ortiz, Benigno Romero, Leroy Medina & Margarito Maes; A Rosary Service 10:00 AM Monday at St. Peters Catholic Church by Vita Ornelas with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 23rd, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. There will be no local viewing. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
