Mr. Marcos Bennie Barela, 60, of Rocky Ford died on Thursday, March 17th, 2011 while in the company of family members at Pioneer Health Care Center. Marcos was born in Rocky Ford, CO on October 29, 1950, the son of Albino and Clorinda Marie (Vialpando) Barela. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School and attended Boulder University. He was the husband of Carol (Lucero) Rodriquez. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, listening to music, cooking, spending time with family and friends, was an avid Denver Bronco fan and loved by everyone's path he crossed. He welcomed everyone into his heart and home. He is survived by his wife; Carol, Mother: Clorinda of Rocky Ford; Daughter Julie (Matthew) Mann of Longmont, CO; Son Mario (Stephanie Baca) Barela of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Michael (Christina) Barela of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Arlene (Megirio Vigil) Rodriquez of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Angela (Mike Maestes) Rodriquez of Pueblo, CO; Daughter Alicia (Martin) Aragon of Thornton, CO; Daughter Adrianna (Jesus) Amaya of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Victoria (Edward) Morales of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Albie (Rita) Barela of Denver, CO; Brother Joaquin Barela of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Jerry (Shirley) Barela of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother David (Christine Gabaldon) Barela of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Patrick Barela of Denver, CO. He is also survived by Grandchildren: Karlos, Sierra, Dominique, Noah, Nicholas, Caleb, Jadon, Christopher, Alana, Adam, Joe, Jacob, Nicholas, Myah, Jaylon, Catherine, Jonathan, Ayva, Avery, Halle. Special cousins: Sally Barela & Linda Pantoya and numerous special nieces, nephews and god-children. A Rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM with a Memorial Service to follow both at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23rd, with Fr. Charlie Sena officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
