Margaret Maestas

Margarita (Margaret) Maestas, 95, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Wednesday, June 4th, while in the company of family members, at her residence. Margarita was born in Rio Mora, NM on August 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Aurelia (Esquibel) and David Gallegos. She attended school in Maes, NM. She was the widow of Miguel Maestas they were married in August of 1935 in New Mexico. She was a Homemaker and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by; Son Eloy, husband of Rosemary Maestas, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Lenora, wife of Joe Garduno, of San Bernadino, CA; Daughter Aurelia, wife of Paul Gonzales, of La Junta, CO; Son Dino Maestas, of Colorado Springs, CO; Daughter Loretta Maestas, of Las Vegas, NV; Son Ray, husband of Cathy Maestas, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Robert Maestas, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Richard, husband of Vonda Maestas, of Albuquerque, NM. 23 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sons: Benny & Mike Maestas; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 2 granddaughters; Saundra Maestas, Sandy Maestas; 1 grandson; Sean Maestas & ! great-granddaughter, Micaela Maestas. A Rosary service will be recited at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 9th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-3 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
