Maria Clorinda "Clora" Cook

August 31, 1930 - January 3, 2018

Maria Clorinda (Clora) Cook, 87, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Wednesday, January 3rd, while in the company of family, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta.

Maria was born in Anton Chico, NM on August 31, 1930, a daughter of the late Conrada (Aragon) and Delfido Lucero.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church Rocky Ford, CO.

She worked as a C.N.A, she also worked as a childcare provider for many children in the Arkansas Valley.

She loved to dance to Mexican music, loved to cook & bake, gardening, paint pictures on cloth, she always gave from the heart, she was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews and a very special neighbor to many. She loved spending time with her family and especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughter.

She is survived by; Son Jeffery Michael Lucero, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Christina Renee Baca, of La Junta, CO; Brother Ernest, husband of Dollie Lucero, of Pueblo, CO; Brother Alfonso, husband of Eleanor Lucero, of Arizona; Brother Johnny Lucero, of North Carolina; Sister Mary Wirkes, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Flavie Vialpando, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Vita, wife of Jim Shaver, of Colorado Springs, CO; Granddaughter Sabryna Baca, of La Junta, CO; Granddaughter Whitney Aragon, of La Junta, CO Granddaughter Eylenna Cook, of La Junta, CO; Great-Granddaughter Kira Padilla, of La Junta, CO; Special Niece Linda Pantoya, of Rocky Ford, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Agatha Lucero; brother: Florencio Lucero; sister: Stella Sisneros; nephew: Albert Lucero

Viewing will be held 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 7th at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, January 8th at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
