Lorraine Rodriguez, 65, passed away surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous journey with cancer.
Lorraine was so much more than the illness she faced. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, godmother, family member, and friend whose life was defined by the people she loved and the memories she created with them. Her family was at the center of her world, and the love she gave them will continue to live on through each of them.
Throughout her journey, Lorraine showed incredible strength and courage. Even during the most difficult days, her family remained by her side, surrounding her with the same love and care that she had given them throughout her life.
Lorraine will be remembered for her personality, kindness, strength, generosity, love of family, and for the countless ways she made those around her feel loved. Her presence brought something special to every gathering, and the memories made with her will forever be treasured.
Lorraine leaves behind a family who loved her beyond words, including her husband, Robert Rodriguez; her daughters, Michelle Lucero and Stephanie (Adrian) Ortega; and her beloved grandchildren, Zarek Martinez, Isabella Lucero, Gracie Lucero, and Adrian Ortega Jr. the Prince. Being their Nana was one of the greatest joys of her life, and the love she had for her grandchildren was immeasurable.
She is also survived by her sisters, Frances Geoffrion, Viola Lucero, Eloida Carrasco, Sadie Cordova, and Liz (Walt) Fairchild, as well as her beloved godchildren, Maria Bonds, Chris Fairchild, Jessica Licano, Jasiel Marquez, Madelyn Tafoya, Raquel Dearcos, Angelina Cordova, and Satero Cordova, and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Lorraine held a special place in her heart for her godchildren and treasured the bond she shared with each of them.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her father, David Cordova; her mother, Rose Cordova; her son, Robert Rodriguez Jr.; and her siblings, Ben Cordova, David Cordova, Alice Moberg, and Lillian Lucero. She now joins those she loved and lost before her.
Although saying goodbye to Lorraine brings tremendous sadness, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering. Her strength, her love, her laughter, and the lessons she gave her family will remain with them always.
Lorraine’s life cannot be measured simply by the years she lived, but by the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the family who will carry her memory forward.
We will miss you more than words could ever express, Mom.
We will carry you with us in everything we do.
Until we meet again, you will forever be loved and forever be remembered.
