Mario D. Montez passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 65. Mario was born on February 9, 1957, in Pueblo to Tomas and Estella Montez. Mario worked as a route driver for Meadow Gold Dairies for 28 years. He recently retired in August of 2022. Mario was active in city league basketball and volleyball for many years. As his children began to grow, he participated in coaching youth basketball and baseball teams. Mario loved life and was very involved in golf and always had a smile and a kind word.

Mario was preceded in death by his father Tomas D. Montez, Sr. and his brother Tomas D. Montez, Jr. He is survived by his loving mother Estella Montez and sister Feliz (Joel) Maes of Pueblo, his wife of 33 years Angie Montez, his children: Jeff (Lily) Montez of Littleton, Eric Montez of Pueblo, Michaela Montez of Fowler, 5 grandchildren: Jackie Montez, Dion Montez, Jordan Montez, Logan Hill, Lauren Hill.
