Obituary

Marjorie was born to Twilo (Gates) and Roy E. Foster in Loveland, Colorado on November 25, 1922.  After graduating from Loveland High School, Marjorie attended Colorado A and M (now Colorado State University) in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She earned a B.S. in Nutrition in 1944 and completed her internship as a dietitian at the Colorado State Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado.

Upon college graduation in 1944, Marjorie moved to Houston, Texas, and worked as a dietitian for Memorial Hospital.  Upon returning to Colorado Marjorie was employed at Colorado State University overseeing the student food service at Rockwell Hall.  During that time Marjorie met Charles W. 'Chuck' Dickie, and they were married in 1952.  Â

Upon Chuck's veterinary school graduation, Marjorie and Chuck moved to California where Chuck was employed by the State Department of Agriculture of California in the laboratory system.  Marjorie continued her career as a hospital dietitian.

When Chuck was appointed director of the CSU Fort Collins extension laboratory in Rocky Ford, he and Marjorie moved back to Colorado.  Marjorie continued her work at Pioneer Memorial Hospital and later, La Junta Medical Center. Â

Marjorie enjoyed cooking, sewing, and was an avid reader.  She had a beautiful soprano voice and participated in the Presbyterian Church Choir for many years.  The family regularly vacationed at Bandelier National Monument and the Sand Dunes National Monument in the San Luis Valley. The family spent many days in Santa Fe, NM, while camped at Bandelier and visited the museums and art galleries located there. Marjorie was very close to her sisters and they had an annual visit together every summer.

Marjorie is survived by daughters Lynn Dickie, Barbara (Bob) Johnson and by son, John (Marci) Dickie. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jackie Flores, Jeff Kester, Michael Johnson, Jack, Craig, Cody, Ethan, and Everly Dickie.  Marjorie is also survived by brother-in-law Frank Raufeisen, sister-in-law Shirley Foster, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friend, Mary Cuckow. Â

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, sister Doris Raufeisen, sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Kenneth) Hadeen, brother Jack Foster, and daughter-in-law Kerri (Shable) Dickie.Â

The family would like to thank the staff at Cottonwood Ridge Assisted Living, Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care and kindness to Marjorie.
