Markos Chavez passed away on February 3, 2024 at the age of 60 in Pueblo. Mark was born in Rocky Ford to Tony and Lucy Chavez. They moved to La Junta in the late 70s and Mark Graduated from La Junta High School class of 1982. After high school Mark joined the Army. Mark served in the Army until the mid-90s. After the Army Mark returned to La Junta. Mark was a very caring person and was always willing to help everyone who needed it. Everyone who knew him loved him because he was such a kind person. Mark loved his animals, especially his cats and dogs. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Mark is survived by his 7 siblings: Georginia Baca of Rocky Ford, Bernice Cervantes of KS, Teresa Payan of KS, Tony Chavez of La Junta, Morris Chavez of OK, Irene Delarosa of OK, Johnny Chavez of OK, numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Tony & Lucy Chavez, sister Lucielle Ruiz, his niece April Baca, and his nephew Frank Salazar.
