Mary Cruzita Gallegos

Mrs. Mary Cruzita Gallegos, 62, of Rocky Ford died Tuesday, February 7th, 2012 suddenly at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Mary was born in Las Animas, CO on May 26, 1949, the daughter of the late James and Maria Eva (Navarez) Sanchez. She attended schools in Las Animas, Newdale and Rocky Ford High School. She was the wife of Roger Eloy Gallegos. They were married on April 10, 1975 in La Junta, CO. He survives. Prior to health issues in 1995 she worked outside of the home as a cook/housekeeper for the High Chaparral and Rocky Ford Inn. She had also worked at the Prior's Jean Factory. She was a member of Faith Assembly in Rocky Ford, CO. She volunteered for the Assembly of God Church in Rocky Ford. Mary loved to play Bingo with Jennie Madrid and going to Cripple Creek. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but most importantly with her grandkids. She is survived by her husband Roger of the home; Son Ricardo (Violet Montoya) Gallegos of Rocky Ford, CO; Son James (Angelique) Gallegos of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother James (Yvonne) Sanchez, Jr. of Albuequerque, NM; Sister Anna Mae (Ron) Rodgers of Oblong, IL; Cousin Susan Dearcos of Rocky Ford, CO; Cousin Sonya wife of Juan Gonzalez of Rocky Ford, CO. She is also survived by Grandchildren: Devin Gallegos, Marky Garcia, Christopher Montoya, Macie Jo Hopkins, Illyawna Gallegos, Lyrika Gallegos, Nolie Gallegos and Miraya Gallegos. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Tomasita Prohaska-Sanchez. Per her request, Memorial Services will be private at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
