Mary Olive Morrison

Mary Olive Morrison, 96, of La Junta, CO, passed away Monday, June 23rd, peacefully at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center-Nursing Center East, La Junta, CO. Mary was born in La Junta, CO on May 3, 1918, a daughter of the late Joanna Cecilia (McCleary) and Elmer Harrison Goff. She graduated from Cheraw High School and CSU with a Bachelor's in Food & Nutrition and a Master's in Dietetics from Kansas State University. She was the widow of Robert Leo Morrison. On Feb. 15, 1950, they were married at La Junta, CO. Mary served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant during WWII being stationed in Panama. She worked as a Dietician at University of Illinois, Champagne, IL and had also worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha, NE. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She was a member of American Dietetics Association and the Alumni Association at Colorado State University. She is survived by; Daughter Eileen (Jack) Wasserbach, of Durango, CO; Daughter Marjorie (Greg Mattingly) Morrison, of Third Lake, IL; Sister Marjorie Kunselmann, of Tionesta, PA; She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren; Kristy (Matt) Bruce, Kelly Wasserbach, Amy Wasserbach, Molly Mattingly, Will Mattingly, Ann Mattingly; 1 Great-Grandchild; Evan Bruce Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; Bill Morrison; brother; Walter Goff A Rosary Service will be recited at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 28th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
